Kinja'd!!!

Now, I’m not saying somebody needs to make a stripped down racecar on a GMC Motorhome chassis... but I’m not saying they don’t, either.

One more battery pack (where the wastewater tanks are) and you’ve got a Tesla Model RV.

Since you mention it, it does seem kind of odd that GM didn’t do more things with the setup. They got as far as doing *one* truckish thing with it, and then stopped. I mean, I guess the suspension wasn’t actually built for that heavy a load and favored comfort, but even so.

As to cabovers with Olds/Cad FWD drivetrains, there was a bit on TTAC a while where a guy was in the middle of Toronading a ‘46 Ford cabover...

Yes, but big block Olds in something with four rear wheels that would weigh less than a Toronado complete and is >20ft long. thisbonerswrongandidontevencare.jpg

What do you call that rear suspension type? Cantilever?

More or less. There are kits out there that introduce a center brace, so that there are travel limits and reduced “jump” from one to the other (and two bags per side) , but in essence it’s a self-leveling thing and similar to a very simplified Citroen front/rear link on a 2CV. They’re adjustable and allow you to level it when parked, and the design of the links allows for a certain amount of passive steer. It’s quite nice.

I found the technical term... at least, as used on a tank:

It would certainly be the world’s only FWD 6-wheel racecar.

Somehow, I don’t think that’s a bad thing.

I’m picturing a race version of this with drag skinnies on all four rear wheels and some kind of ludicrous giant radials up front. Kind of like the Eyston Thunderbolt except running backwards and completely stupid.
