I’ve been getting this warning from Avast about half the time I go to Oppo. Malwarebytes didn’t find anything, and I don’t like Avast so I’m not gonna run its scan anyway. I just keep it because it can sometimes stop infected pages from loading, or something. I dunno. But anyway, yeah, what’s going on? Is anyone else getting this?

And yes, I have a lot of bookmarks. I only use a few, but I keep the others because I’m just used to their positioning.

Looks like a malicious iFrame from the looks of things.

Anyone know how to get in contact with whoever handles advertising for Kinja? An adblocker should help for the time being. I recommend uBlock...

Once we all have chips implanted in our brains, at what point to computer viruses mutate into real viruses...?

Definitely not by clicking the Advertising link at the bottom left, it apparently still goes to Gawker...

I’ve experienced a lot of “chrome redirects” on jalopnik when browsing with my phone if that makes you feel any better... I promise it is a quite big PITA

It doesn’t like a JavaScript iFrame that the page is trying to load. Probably a sketchy ad, try ad block.

What’s better about it? I haven’t heard of it before reading your post.

Adblock sold their soul to the devil, started whitelisting certain ad agencies. Ublock blocks all ads.

Thanks I didn’t know about that, I’ll be updating my chrome extension Asap.

Ignore it, I am getting it too - it’s a false-positive, nothing to worry about.

Another plus is that uBlock is less resource intensive than ABP. This comes in handy when you have a lot of tabs open like I do. Or use Chrome, like I do.

I am a tab hoarder on both Chrome and Safari so that is great to know. I’ve converted my work Chrome and home Chrome to uBlock (and have disabled ABP) so far so good! Unfortunately they don’t have a Safari extension so I’ll have to keep using ABP on Safari.

Thanks again for letting me know about uBlock I’ve got it now at home and on my work Chrome and I’m pleased with it.
