Curious.
Current lowest prices in my area. I’m at around 5,200 ft (basically one mile or 1.6 km) above sea level in the US Southwest.

Like every Kroger gas station around here used to have them, but they’ve all just kind of disappeared. I’m glad, because they were annoying.

That Murphys always has the cheapest gas in the state. Are those additives pricy? Or about in line with buying a bottle of Techron or whatever?

I think I saw one of those once on an out-of-state trip. Can’t recall.
Makes me wonder if those things are subject to compliance inspections. I see the NTEP sign, but it doesn’t have a year indicator on it. Come to think of it, is the fuel at fueling stations tested chemically? Or is it just about metering accuracy?

If they actually put a vending machine right there for sodas and candy bars that just added the price to the gas total, I might use it. I know, I know — there’s a store 20 steps away that sells such things. But then I have to walk away from the car and worry about people stealing whatever might be in there (or roll up the windows and lock the doors). Then I will have to wait behind the 50 year-old woman with smoker’s cough that wants to buy her lotto tickets. Then there’s the guy who wants to pay with exact change but can’t add. And then I have to pay cash for the items I’m buying or use a CC or debit card for a second transaction, which probably means a phone call from my paranoid CC company wanting to know if my card’s been stolen. Finally, I’ll get back to the car to find that the pump somehow clicked off after only half filling the car, which means I have to start the pay-at-the-pump process all over again (and that definitely will spark a call from the CC company). What the hell was the question?
