As two-door SUVs go, it’ll be hard to beat that thing! This is the RAID’s PVP (for Petit Vehicule Protégé, or Small Protected Vehicle), and it’s of course full bulletproof, assisting the French police’s elite force on operations. But that’s not even the cool part. The cool part is: it’s a Panhard! That’s right the same Panhard who used to build stuff like this:

I’ll be honest, I didn’t know Panhard was still around. And badass military vehicles is quite a departure from the stuff I knew them for...

It’s definitely cool. Panhard has been making military stuff for over a century now though, that all started in WWI ;-)

Not much beats that 24 BT, quelle elegance !

I didn’t know about it, it’s funny to me to think of cute ol’ Panhard doing hardcore military stuff!

They used to do little tanks and still have an armoured car for shooting unarmed demonstrators anti terrorist duties.

Yeah, they’re still around, although they haven’t had a fun time getting customers for their military products.

Their current flagship is this, the CRAB. Nope, nobody’s admitted to buying one yet. Pity, since it’s pretty great, at least on paper.

If they dropped the turret and used regular automotive steel instead of ballistic steel for the hull, they could probably sell a bunch to off road enthusiasts
