I ask about dream garages fairly often and occassionally I’ll give you some realistic challenges. Tonight however I’m asking for something from your contingency list! Here is the situation for tonight:
*You need to sell EVERY vehicle under your name within the next 7 days. If you have a joint loan then you need to consider it refinanced with your name off the vehicle and the other party will keep it. Add up the total (including the amount owed and the amount saved monthly with fuel, insurance, and payments) and tell me what would you do for your sole vehicle?

Realistically if we sold the Fit, and the Galant Vr-4 I’d have maybe 10,000 thankfully we don’t owe anything one them. I’d probably get a manual LS1 Catfish, and a beater Civic.

You could still fiance another car plus whatever is left over on your truck loan after using the money generating from selling everything.
So say you had a $30,000 loan and the truck was worth $17,000, then you would need to add $13,000 to whatever car you would end up financing. So if you still wanted to do a $30k loan then you could grab a $17,000 car.

almost everything i own is ALREADY in my name. so that means it all gots to go...... i ought to be able to pull AT LEAST $30k from the whole mess of cars and trucks i have........... means that the project car would have to step up a little sooner for daily use.........
so starting out with a rusted shell of one of these model t truck cabs and frame. then take a 4 speed setting in the yard, and a 4x4 np203 transfer case. round up a set of axles and springs out of a blazer. underslung frame set up like.......
and with the remaining $monies round up some wide sticky tires and wheels. use one of the engines i have almost ready to go in the yard....... and up and moving. full year convertible......

Adding up private party KBB values on the Prius, Miata, and ballpark values on my bicycles and recumbent trike, I’ve basically got just shy of $26k to play with, and I need to pay off almost $25k (I’m far enough upside down on the Prius for now that, even with the Miata’s value as well, I’d have been in the negative - hence rolling the bicycles in. By Ohio law, they’re vehicles, so I have to do it anyway).
I’ve also got $610/mo to play with, though, for insurance, fuel, and payments, and insurance would be less with one less car, and fuel slightly less. So, really, I think I’d just buy another Prius as the only car, I’m happy with mine.
