A husband and wife clean my house every other week (two kids, two pets, and 6 jobs between my wife and I) and they were telling me they can’t go back to their house in Mexico City now, because they’re afraid of the bullshit that might go on with their visa. I have a big picture of Pancho and Emiliano at the Presidential Palace hanging in my pub room, so they know I don’t support that orange pandejo. I think it’s time we all start growing our moustaches out.

We know of one lady that was stopped at the border. A lady that has 8 years here, a home, kids, business, everything normal. She went over to Reynosa for some medicine for her huskies and some stuff for a birthday party. USBP pulled here aside and asked her for her phone. She took it out and they grabbed it. They started looking at her picture gallery and everything. They found a Trump meme, took her residency card, and sent her back to Reynosa. She is still in Mexico but in Toluca with some family trying to figure our how to get back to her LEGAL life in the US

Same here, pretty much. Able to vote in ‘98, I’ve voted for four presidential candidates, one of whom won (twice, luckily).
We’re outside the scope of just winning and losing here, though. We’re headed down the road of crippling public education, gutting financial regulations (worked out well when 43 did it, oh, wait...), pissing off the international community or just outright embarassing ourselves, and setting the framework for a bigoted, isolationist border policy. All of this coming from an administration that has shown no remorse at the idea of making shit up to support their narrative.
I’m not one for violence or the destruction of property. Unfortunately, taking all the above into consideration, and also acknowledging the facts that the results of a peaceful sit in (textbook Civil Disobedience 101) can get you this:
then yeah, it might be time to fuck some shit up.
(Protest image is from 2011 Cal Davis during an Occupy protest, but I certainly wouldn’t be surprised to see the same happening at any of the more recent protests).

Seriously though, if Politics gets you that worked up... you should avoid politics. If things really get that bad... vote with your feet, and go someplace else. Other wise, just get on with your life and don’t put that much capital into things you have no control over. By all means express your opinion on events, and care about their outcome, and if you want to get involve to try and affect them by all means. But to get so worked up that over politics is not good a good thing.

And pretty much every president has made the last one look good. Couldn’t imagine a candidate that could make Obama look good... but we got 2 of them.
Everyone of those things you list as reason... they have been listed as justification as long as I can remember. Rioting only looks good to those inclined to riot. to the rest of the world, it looks like children throwing a temper tantrum. It pretty much always backfires.

That’s scary stuff. I’m in Maricopa County where immigrants and citizens who happen to have a darker skin tone have had to deal with Sheriff Joe. The wife of a coworker of mine was pulled over by MCSO and they asked to see her proof of citizenship (she is Puerto Rican and thus a US citizen). The same coworker (who was born Mexico City but has grown up in the US) spent time in a federal jail because of confusion over his visa paperwork. He says the guards were terrible.
The guy who bought me the painting in Monterrey had BP dogs scratch the shit out of the leather seats in his brand new car, and had to listen to agents tell him that everyone with his car has drugs (Chrysler 300). He applied for citizenship after Bush got elected a second time for fear of visa troubles and is still on a waiting list.
My great grandfather ran away from home in Calabria and came to America as a teenager. He fought in the US Navy, then lived as a hobo while he learned English. He was shit on for being Italian (he was also of Albanian heritage, and was shit on for being Albanian when in Europe). I hate how people nowadays can’t see how what happened to their ancestors is happen to immigrants nowadays.

It’s a damn shame and the people being target are not bothering anyone. They work, pay taxes (in some cases way more than a lot of US citizens), live in peace, aren’t out for anything free.
