Link if it gets kinja’d. I think it’s working now but I had some issues getting it to stick.

Lol... well considering Zambonis are used to polish the ice... I can see why they would want him to stop.... Just curious... does Canada have a No Zamboni law... and if so, What is the punishment? And the biggest question... exactly how bored or desperate to do SOMETHING was the legislature that came up with that one?

We wouldn’t have a “No Zamboni” law as such (except maybe in some isolated area that I’ve never heard of that has literally nothing better to do, but I dunno) but a Zamboni is not a street-legal vehicle. As far as punishment goes, probably a fine. Doubt if it would be big. This guy probably just got a warning, anyway... after all he was trying to be a public service.

As far as polishing ice goes, as long as he was just picking up the snow and not flooding it should have been fine.

How was he doing that though? Was he just scraping the blade along the road? It wouldn’t last too long, but I can’t think of any other way to clear snow with a zamboni.

Kinja'd!!!

All I can think of was he was scraping without putting the blades all the way down.

No, we normally drive zambonis on the street.

For such simple traffic laws, you can’t possibly refer to “the laws in Canada” and expect it to be the same nationwide.

No. but I would expect those laws to actually be within the nation of Canada, not in Germany or China or where ever.

Dunno. You could swing it both ways.

Vehicle theft to go to Tim Hortons is definitely up there.

But... Zamboni, trying to be helpful to the public...

Not sure to go for the extra serious offense or the extra stereotype.

No lights? Yeah, I could see why that would be a problem.

I never noticed that, but that’s odd. They usually have lights of some kind. I guess maybe some dedicated indoor ones don’t? But even those used indoors have to go outside to dump snow. I don’t think I’ve ever seen without lights but then I don’t exactly look for them.

But yeah that would be an issue.

If eating poutine while clearing, even better.

Poutine and Beaver Tails with Maple Syrup.

...Actually, now I want to do that.
