I’ve been wanting to do this swap since I got the Dakota. Since the engine is a ‘96, provided this thing comes with the PCM and harness, which the ad says all accessories, it’d basically be a plug and play swap. And then go out and rip the right rear tire for days, because Peg-Leg.

What is your Dak running now? If it’s a 5.2 you don’t need jack for a 5.9 swap. A 46re trans would be a good and highly recommended upgrade though. Which would require a 5.9 PCM.

3.9. No 46RE for me. Stick shift, thanks. The little AX-15 probably won’t last long, but fuck it.

Ah. The 3.9. It should run for a long time. The AX15? It can serve well without too much abuse. Plus you have the best looking Dakota they made. That is a fact!

Thank you! The truck has 267,000 on it right now. I’m dead certain with good maintenance it’d go 267,000 more. But I want the rumble of V8, and I don’t care what exhaust you put on it, no way to make a V6 sound the same.

267,000?! On the original engine and trans? According to the Internet that’s impossible.

All Dodges blow up, kill the neighbors dog and kick aunt Mary in the shins at 30,000 miles. Or so I’ve read.

LOL! The trans has been rebuilt. The engine’s never been out as far as I know.
