Pretty much the same as your car? Ok. If you multiply it by two and add some tech from newer cars at the same time (SBC). 40k service as per the manual costs around $10k. Interior puts an S to shame. But they’re not driver’s cars. Despite the power they’re quite slow and the only sense of occasion comes from the car itself rather than the way it moves. I’ll take the S600.

Man I just can’t get over the lights. The spanning single rear lens is so nineties. The front lights are no better. It looks like they just tried to make it different to the S, without trying to actually make it better. The grill looks like a mid-00s Hyundai.
Compare it to the smug majesty of a Phantom and there’s just no contest.

Current Maybach is a maxed out S-class. Previous Maybach is on a completely different level, especially the 62, insane.
I have a list at work, I’ll pull it up when I get there. Even the chassis and number of components is insane. It would take at least three other “normal” Mercedes to build one from parts and you still wouldn’t get anywhere near the interior.

Well I realized it was on its own platform and that the interior quality was better, I just never realized how much different they actually were. I’ve never been much a fan of the phantom. I think that they’ve always looked a bit overstuffed personally. I know it’s abjectly a better car than the Maybach, but I also know which one I’d drive home.

I remember both the car and you mentioning that. Make no mistake, I adore Maybach. If I had enough money to have a Phantom or a 62, I would have enough money to have both. Which is what I would do.
