Have you ever wanted to drive a racecar in your underpants?
Team Oppo is looking for members. This is an Opposite Lock/Digital Burnouts based iRacing team focused on official iRacing endurance races. An official iRacing Team has been created as well as a Discord. Soon a Kinja sub blog will exist for Team based communications and stories, which will be shared to Oppo of course.
You do not need any special qualifications to join Team Oppo. Just have an iRacing account, an interest in racing with a group, and sign up.

After you sign up, you will be sent a request to join the official iRacing team.
Our next event is the 12 Hours of Sebring, March 11th. We will be looking for drivers for this race. However, we understand that asking people to jump into a powerful GT3 or Prototype is a bit of a daunting task, especially when you throw 60 other cars on track. To make this easier, we are looking to do some driver/team development. The goal of this development is to get people up to a Class C license, this makes you eligible for all iRacing endurance races.
This development will be a combination of hosted sessions and group official racing (for Sebring, we will be heavily focused on the latter due to time).
Hosted sessions
team building/race practice where we will become familiar with the car, track, some driving tips, and group practice races (“pit parties”).
A fun race.
We are working on how to actually do this.
Group Official racing
Discord will be open for all who want to spend time running races (most likely on weekends). The idea is to get a group and run official Mazda Miata Races. These races occur every hour. We will not all be in the same race, but we can all communicate with each other.
This is the easiest way to practice and get you qualified for official endurance races.
There will be a sizable component of this that will be on your own (weekdays, etc.). Sorry, but we cannot be there the whole time.
We will be mainly using the Mazda Miata, but may also dive into some of the other ‘free’ cars for further development, especially as we get closer to race day.
For the moment we are focused on Team-based endurance racing. However, we would be open to form teams/groups for any other iRacing series (NASCAR, Indycar, F1, street stocks, etc.).

I’d be happy to join some of your hosted sessions and just hang out/turn laps, but I’m already spoken for for Nurburgring and Le Mans. I was planning on skipping Sebring but if you would like a me for a stint or two I’m game.

Only Honda we have is the HPD prototype (P2). They claimed we would get Honda BTCC cars, but that was many years ago.

I’ve started considering trying to see if my laptop can handle it. If it can I would love to join. I have a shitload of online racing in forza which I know is not the same but I want to emphasize that I have experience in fast cars.

iRacing’s system requirements are pretty low. However, they have announced they are ending DX9 and 32-bit compatibility next month.
I was running it on a 32-bit Win7 Core 2 Duo until late 2015. I was still holding a steady 30 FPS. If you have a laptop made within the last 5 years, it should work.
My current laptop has a Dual Core i7, nVida graphics, and 16 GB of ram. I can run comfortably on Medium High graphics (~50-80 FPS). The processor, Win10, and occasionally wonky internet are holding me back.

Lets see how easy it is to get out of the grays. Been simracing pCars and gran turismo for as long as both have been out, enjoyed a career in FSAE, and now just got into iRacing last week (got out of rookie road racing in 5 races) and look to be competitive there for a long time! Sign me UP!

It looks like you meet the mins. I think if you have a dedicated graphics card you will be fine.

Cool, do some PR code digging, you can sometimes find some decent deals on the subscription as well as bonus cars and tracks, you can also use my email as a reference when you sign up bwp1070 at hotmail.
It will definitely be a bit of an adjustment over Forza.
