Right brand, wrong model.

I’m so sorry. Though from what I’ve heard this newest model (facelift?) is pretty decent. The biggest problem I’ve had with rental Nissans is that the “S” models in most fleets have different seats than higher trims that are total ass. I have yet to sit in a rental Nissan that didn’t make my butt fall asleep and back hurt after half an hour. Just thin seats with shit fabric and no padding.

My sincerest condolences in advanced. I’ve been in a few of the days and I honestly can’t think of a worse modern car than this.

Few cars scream “rental” more than these.

I can sum up your review in a haiku:

Nissan seats: so comfy
CVT makes sounds like waaaahhhnnnggg
At least Bluetooth works

Cars like this are why I have given up on renting from anywhere other than Turo! It’s bad enough to be stuck with an automatic anything but that Nissan CVT and almost every current econoboxes over-assisted steering as well as the stability control systems. I love slow turds of cars but they have to at least be either comfortable or engaging in some way. 90s cars are the best at this. Honestly I wish rental fleets had some shitty 90s piles of garbage in them.

Car and Driver knows what’s up. I rented one last summer... they’re being nice.

They didn’t let me pick, also I don’t think they rent jukes.

This. This is much worse. I had it as a rental one time and it was worse to drive than my 1997 Explorer.

Drove 4 hours today and my back feels just fine. The seat is actually better than the one in the Chevy. This is an SV model, if that means anything.

I’m putting about 600 miles on this, and there were like 3 cars on Turo near me with unlimited miles and the best was a 2007 Corolla. No thank you.

Ah, yes. The Kia Rio. My uncle rented a red one in 2014. Good lord, what a piece of shit. If I recall correctly, the splash sheild fell off while we were driving in a Publix parking lot. Also, two of the buttons managed to fall off on their own while we were doing about 70 on Sawgrass Expressway near Sunrise, Florida. Which buttons? One of the radio buttons and one of the HVAC buttons. I shit you not. To make matters worse, it made terrible whining noises and the transmission was slipping at only 13k miles.

It was terrible, the one I drove had 190 miles on it when I started my trip. It didn’t even have cruise control, that was a shit trip.

I did... it was a soul-sucking misery box. It did have comfortable seats, at least.

I really only drove it on the highway, it’s hard to get a good feel for a car based on that.

I did a lot of Wisconsin back country driving. It sucked at curves. It was also soooooooooooooooooooooooooo slow. It also gave me new appreciation for just how superb and splendid the CVT in my wife’s Outback was. How you make a CVT (a transmission that sucks at being a transmission) that sucks at being a CVT is... well... Nissan.

And then there was the “SPORT” button... What it does other than turning on a “SPORT” light on the instrument panel I never could figure out.

Ah, yeah it is slow. I was to the floor and it was barely outpacing a Honda Odyssey on the on ramp. You don’t really notice the CVT on the highway, just cruising it didn’t bother me. I was wondering if that button actually did anything.

I want my E90 back.

Good to hear. SV is actually a mod-level trim. Nissan typically goes S, SV, SL. Some models get a “sportier” SR trim and some get a luxed out Platinum. Hard to tell if the S and SV seats are different without having sat in both.

Probably different, cause these seats really weren’t bad at all. It needs more power, apparently it’s only got 124 hp.

Yeah they finally offer the 1.6T from the Juke on some trims, tho even before that there was an optional 2.0.

It’s got 40 less hp than the Malibu that I rented, it’s very noticeable. Good they’ve realized they needed to give it more power.

Yeah the mileage restriction is the biggest pain in the ass. It seems especially stupid to me on the higher mileage cars where adding mileage isn’t gonna hurt the resale value. I also wish they had mileage packages or something instead of just 75 cents per mile. If anything, it’s just a peace of mind thing to be able to drive without thinking about how far anything is.
