So, between ~2030 last night and 0500 this morning someone managed to whack off my driver’s side mirror. Any of the Fiesta folk or FiSTers on here had to replace one of those yet? Just curious how much of a PITA it’s going to be...

Since it’s mounted on the door itself I’m assuming I’m going to have to pull the door card which shouldn’t be too bad...and luckily the painted trim was undamaged so I should be able to just pop and swap.

Anything particularly obnoxious hanging out there (other than shitheads that knock off people’s mirrors and leave no contact info...) I should be aware of?

I swapped a mirror on my explorer, it wasn’t bad at all, just required removing the door card and undoing 3 bolts. I assume it’s about the same for a FiST.

I had to replace the lens on my Sport Trac. the mirror was built so that you couldn’t get the glass out so I needed the whole mirror. You woiuld think that with it being an Explorer Sport Trac, it would have a common mirror with something, another Explorer, Ranger, Mountaineer, the Mazdas, Aviator.... nope, it was a Sport Trac sspecific part. The actual swap wasn’t too bad.

Shouldn’t be bad.

Replacement mirror doesn’t come with the painted cap, so you’ll need to reuse yours. Pull the mirror glass (if any is left) out of your damaged mirror to gain access to the tabs that snap the trim cap into the mirror itself.

Mirror installation is pretty simple, remove interior trim panel, the mirror should just be three bolts and about a 6-8" (on average) wiring lead that comes off off the mirror and connects to the door harness.

Make sure to route the wiring harness around the outside of the window track so it doesn’t catch the glass, and be careful installing the glass in the new housing they do break easy. Do the glass last, pop the center in first, then use the mirror switch to extend the motors out and make it easier for the other two.
