So I’m headed down to D.C. tomorrow for a meeting. I’ll have about two hours in the evening to myself before I fly home. Where should I eat? I could sit down somewhere, or eat street food and walk around. If it informs your advice, I’ve never been to the district before. Thanks! Have a pensive Dogmeat for your time:

Depending on the time your meeting finishes, head to one of the Smithsonian Museums. Only like 15-20 mins on the Metro to DCA. I’m partial to the Air and Space Museum, but the American History Museum is another favorite. They’re all free, and open until 5:30.

If you’re around later, Dupont Circle has lots of restaurants and is a relatively safe area of DC.

I close out my work day at 5, so that’s sadly not an option.

The Lincoln and Jefferson Memorial are cool in the evenings, though keep your wits about you. Kennedy Center has a great rooftop terrace for planespotting (right across from DCA), and it has a great view over the city.

I don’t recal much for eats in downtown DC. Georgetown has a great bar/restaurant scene as does Arlington, down by the river. I have had some fantastic sea food and beer in old Arlington.
