Hey, it’s still on the road, probably in the minority. I like the curb feelers/whiskers. The motorhome style stripes also add a certain touch.

I also spot a no-grille Q45 in the background, those are pretty rare anymore.

The first time I saw one of those early Q45s I had no clue what it was. I think they must have sold about 7 of them up here, so I’ve still only ever seen the one grille-less one. Maybe one or two of the later ones. The guy had debadged it too, so it took a lot of googling to figure it out.

I wonder if JDM ones have trickled in there, with the more logical private import rules. Of course, the early ones are old enough to import here, too.

I haven’t seen a no-grille one on the road in years, but I still see a 94-95-ish one around now and then. They didn’t sell a lot, and I think they suffered terrible depreciation, which means they often fell into neglectful hands. Nissan was a bit too bold with that car.

I don’t see many big Nissans imported here, it’s all the usual 240SXs, Skylines, and the occasional Cefiros and Elgrands. I think when people want a big Nissan, they import a President.

I think they also had awful transmission problems, otherwise it would be cool to see them around almost as often as LS400s

Do you ever see a President up there? I have yet to see that or a Century in Van, just lots of sporty cars and kei style cars.

I haven’t seen one in person, but I’ve seen a couple for sale. No Century though, sadly.

The more unusual/random ones I’ve seen include RAV4s, CRVs, Windoms (ES300), even a 2WD Delica. Unusual amongst the sea of 4WD Delicas, at least

Oddest one I recall was an 80s era Crown Royal Saloon, in all its malaisey brougham style glory, spotted it in north Burnaby several years ago. I also remember seeing an S-Cargo.

Best Japan import I have seen for sale there was an R129 SL73 AMG, a very rare car. I think it was in North Van. Still too young to send here.

Wow that is a cool one, I had no idea there was one here. Oh yeah there are definitely several S-Cargos around, and even more Paos and Figaros. Actually one of the weirdest I’ve just remembered was an E39 525i. Cloth seats, auto, not even particularly low mileage. Kind of cool, but at the same time, why?

I dug through some files, I thought I snapped a pic of it. I guess this would be mid 80s - the frilly nameplate font (and 3.0 Twin Cam badge) caught my eye:

I’ve seen Figaros there too, and I remember seeing a number of A-Class listed for sale. I’ve noticed odd lowline 124s and 210s for sale there, definite Euro spec or Japan import cars, sometimes with high-ish prices. They are different than NA spec cars, but not rare, and not many care - just old used cars in Europe, like with that E39.
