Kinja'd!!!

I remember back in the Spring of 2012 when I was using the facility and, for the first and so far the only time in my life, I sneezed and scoob’d at precisely the same moments. Complete internal peace. All the aches, pains, and negativity in my body/mind/heart/spirit all went away simultaneously and I knew what it was like to briefly experience eternal happiness. This experienced came again yesterday when I drove my first ever Porsche, a 2013 911 Carrera.

No S, just plain Carrera.

....

...

Freaking magical!

I cant even review it since Im so messed up now when it comes to perspective that I need to drive a lot more cars and come back to this. I feel like I’ve been eating ice cream all my life and just found out you’re not supposed to microwave it first. How blind I was...

All plans are scratched out now, I need to figure out how I’m getting a 911 into my life and I need to drive every Porsche I can find.

Strange. I recently found out it’s way better to microwave the ice cream first to soften it up. I think I need to turn my life around.

HELP!

Lol, I mean like believing ice cream is raw and needs to be cooked before consuming. I’m sure someone here knows proper ice cream consumption methods and I’m curious to hear from them now. I’m from a family that’s 80/20 thaw naturally on counter vs microwave. But that’s out of habit, not philosophy.

I have by no means driven a lot of nice cars. Like, when I drove a Tesla P90D this past summer it was about 3x more powerful than the next car down on my list. However, somehow, I’ve driven three 911's. A 1970-something, a 1985 and a 1995. All were wonderful in different ways. I know there’s a lot of hype, but it has been a life goal since before I had a license to own one of these machines. I hope to be able to realize that dream some day, but in fact, the secret’s out. These really ARE good cars, and they are priced accordingly. And I have a 2- and 4-year old that are putting a small delay in my grand plans.....

I love 911s and that was a good possibility for my next car but ended up with a P90DL for now. I agree that the 911 dream must be realized. Maybe by the time I’m ready for the next car a 997.2 will be in the range I’m looking. Arggg but also that M2 ha.

Help!

I’m a 997 fan, but ever since I drove a 991 that interior is so much better.

Also, do not drive a new turbo 991.2 S. Glorious.

I’m still aiming for a 997 GTS.

(I’ve never put ice cream in the microwave. Ever. And have never seen anyone do it. Had no idea this was a thing.)

The first time I tossed a 911 Turbo S around an autox track I knew eventually I wanted a Porsche!

I test drove a 996 - the only 911 in my budget at the present time - and it was great. The steering was telepathic, ride was superb, and handling was the best of anything I’ve ever driven save my BIL’s NSX. I don’t care about the goofy looks, but this particular example was a bit rough around the edges. Once the kids college funds are full, a 997 will assuredly be in my driveway.
