Ah whoops. I was going with the first comment usually received when this video was posted, but it’s still an interesting story. Wikipedia tells it reasonably thoroughly.

I’m ashamed to say I’ve never watched this until now, despite having known about it forever. Having now seen it, I don’t know how anyone could believe the (glorious) soundtrack is accurate, and I now know where my “1969 Ferrari V12" ringtone comes from.

According to Wikipedia, he never exceeded 140km/h (85mph), although he claimed to hit 230km/h (143mph).

Last time I was in Paris I tried to recreate this with my phone taped to the front of a Vespa and my lady friend on the back.
Suffice it to say, not all the streets are currently in the same one way/two way direction as when this was made... the last bit, at the top of sacre coeur gets a tad confusing, and I nearly killed us turning left into the louvre there off the river.
Fun though. :)

A large one. I only just heard of this when I saw some artwork that drew inspiration from it

10/10 do love. Such a wild mix of Ferrari and Mercedes. I just play in in the background at work sometimes.
I wanna drive around early morning like that.
