Kinja'd!!!

I kind of like E-bodies. I saw a white Reatta and white Riviera at the same intersection last night, right in front of and next to my truck. A rare sighting of each, even here where they don’t rust. These are not pics of the actual cars, but just like these. The Reatta’s headlights stood proud, illuminating the one true path.

I saw a red Reatta with horrible wheels today.

I have a love hate relationship with them. I had a roomate/co-worker who had one. I didn’t like him at all, but I did like his Reatta. I helped him replace the serpentine belt on it once and there’s a surprising amount of room under the hood for a FWD V6, which surprised me.

As a European I’m not aware of the actual pros and cons on this one. I do know I love the Reatta’s looks. That one had that bad-ass digital dashboard, right? What can go wrong?

I do like that Reatta, but parts are so hard to come by and the aftermarket is terrible.

Well they don’t do anything particularly well, except look neat and be comfortable. These were definitely of the digidash era, parts have got to be hard to find now. Hard to kill the engines though.

The 1989 update for these cars is, to me, one of the most successful transformations - it went from looking like a larger N-body (the GM compacts) to looking quite elegant for the era.
