Or just never noticed, the first gen Focus has a really weird antenna. I remember on my Mom’s wagon she got one of those smiley face things that people put on their antennae. She had to take it off because when the car got up to speed it would bang in the roof. It was kinda scary the first time it happened.
Apparently the Euro second gen maintained the odd detail. Even on the convertible, which looks especially odd.
However the US second gen moved it to the back, where it belongs.

It’s so dang long on top of its weird positioning. You can also adjust it to stand like straight upward.

I thought it was. Maybe I’m wrong. Most of the cars I’ve owned have had it on the rear fender. I guess my Civic also had it front the roof, just not in the middle. (Not my civic)

And in the potion there’s no way it could retract. My 91 Civic had it on the roof, but at the top of the driver’s A pillar so it could retract into the A pillar(not that it did anymore).

Apparently my DD Peugeot 406 coupe does have it at the back of the roof. Other cars I own and recently owned didn’t though.
My Lancia parts donor has it in the front as well.
