... then I’m moving to Canada for my automotive information fix. I swear. Really. I’m not kidding.

Or maybe they have better automotive sites in Mexico. They certainly seem to have the edge on street racing.

Or Australia. All those burnout contests must result in some serious automotive sites and commentary.

Let me tell you, as a Canadian, you’re not safe from American politics.

Good luck with that. Unfortunately it’s going to continue. Hopefully it will scale back to politics affecting transportation related stuff, but if things blow off the charts it doesn’t matter where you run to.

Many of us here talking about politics are Canadians.

Big difference between the US and Canada, is that you guys only talk about your politics. Here in Canada we talk about the US politics and Canadian politics too.

You can’t escape the Trump shit show, it’s gone global.

Whew! For a second I though they capped how long titles could be.

You might want to rethink that. Two of those three countries are ones the Trump administration (or Trump himself) has insulted or threatened to invade. And that’s just in the last 48 hours. People in those countries have also been talking about and protesting the new president.

I can gare-un-tee you Trumputinbannon will be on the front page of every paper in Mexico and Nannystatelia too. Canadia is a given, as it is already the 51st state. There’s nowhere to hide, as the alt-reich has already reclaimed the Nazi moon base.

Good luck!!!1!!

I can handle about 15% political content on sites that aren’t supposed to be political (I.e. a car website). I’ve stopped visiting the FP and look elsewhere for my CAR related content.

Kinja displays 20 posts per page, so 15% would allow for 3 off-topic posts per page. I think that’s a fair number.

That’s a common observation. Those not from the US tend to have a more international perspective. They look outside as well as in, while the US only looks in. As if there’s not a whole world out there. It’s a gross generalization, I realize, but it generally holds true. I somewhat like the US and visited last summer with a reason, but this is one of their major issues. I guess in part it’s due to education and media (relatively) ignoring the outside world, combined with the ingrained yet false belief that the US is #1 by definition and far better than everything else. In reality it’s one of many decent countries to live in, all with their own up and downsides, with the only real defining difference between the US and other decent countries being size (and thus power/influence).

Again, I used a very broad and somewhat hyperbolic generalization.
