But, when isn’t it?

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Doug, I like your videos, but you are wrong. The 993 is a better car and I think more fun and better looking than the 512TR. Thus by the the rules of the internet my opinion means you are wrong and I am right. Checking out the dealer’s site , they have quite the lineup. Damn $159k for the 993... Now the real question is take the 993 Turbo or the RUF 993 Turbo ?

RUF has better wheels, but I despise white-face gauges. Would probably opt for the regular 993 Turbo and just find some new wheels.

(Yes, I just chose between two cars based on the gauge faces.)

I agree 100% with your statements, but I think I would just get the RUF and switch out the gauges for stock 993 ones and keep the white ones safe somewhere.

That’s probably a more reasonable solution than mine.

Although, I feel like driving a 500 HP 993 is a death wish. And it looks like the stock car has better, rarer seats.

If it has to be from the 90'same you could always save a bunch of money and get a c4 zr-1. I know. Not nearly as prestigious, but it gets the job done.

Plus, they can actually be made very very quick.

But no because C5 Z06 is better.

Right, but it prevents me from ever wanting a C4 ZR1

Now if I had enough $ to make a C4 actually nice inside, then maybe I could be swayed.

There is nothing terrible about a C5 Z06. There are plenty of things that are not great. But virtually no things that are terrible, minus the interior quality.

Neither the C5Z or the C4 ZR1 is nice inside. The C5 is a little nicer though.

The C4s though are so terribly 80's even at the end. Just never made it.

I don’t know, the C5 isn’t bad. The C6 though I do really like.

You’re right. The C5Z is better. I actually own a 2003 C5Z in yellow.

If I was to do it over again, I would get a C6 LS3. The C5 is louder, rougher, and not as nice inside. It is lighter than the C6 and a little cheaper, but they are equally quick.

The only advantage of the C5Z is that the fixed roof means slightly less squeaks and rattles, but the car is still louder over all.

On the flip side, the LS3 takes exceptionally well to mods. Want to make 500 at the crank? easy. Want to make 700 at the wheels on stock internals? No problem. Plus, you get the TR6060 with the LS3 C6.

Your choice ultimately, but I would test drive both.

I was going to get a black C5Z, but they wanted too much so I got my 06 GTO. I love it. I will eventually get a C6Z so I can built my own C6.R GT1 (LeMans spec w/ LS7.R)

I looked into the goat some time ago, but I heard too many complaints about rear ends, limited suspension options, no options for decent sized tires, etc.

The C6Z is nice, but you of course have the valve guide issues that need to be fixed. You could definitely save money in the long run and just build a stroked LS3. Nearly the same displacement but without the LS7 price premium. You’ll never make as much power NA though due to the smaller bore of the LS3.

02/02/2017 at 20:14, STARS: 1

The Goat issues really are not that bad. The rear ends are only tough because you can’t rebuild them and there is only one guy that does them right in the whole US. SO many options nowadays.

Valve guides would be a weekend project. And really that car would be all from my own personal goals of owning a C6.R which building one into it would be easier than trying to buy one. Especially since I would have to have a Pratt & Miller chassis car if I did buy one and those are impossible to get your hands on without huge money. Plus the C6Z is out of my range for a while, so prices will continue to drop till I can get a decent one to build a great track car.

I was HORRIFIED how cheap that Ferrari door sounded when it closed. My Civic didn’t sound that cheap

I know the door sound is a little thing, but I just expect something better from such an expensive car.

Right?! My Fiero had a better door shut than that. The Porsche sounded so amazing though.
