Available scotch is best scotch. I keep some J&B for regular use and snag some of my family’s Glenlivet when I visit.

I tried that, and it tasted to me like beer with apple juice in it. I’m OK with hard cider, but this was not my thing.

I’ve never had the black, only the double black, which makes for a good daily. I’m out and haven’t purchased any since they stopped carrying it at Costco.

Tonight’s drink of choice is a favorite ale. I haven’t found it on tap here in STL, but back in Santa Monica I quaffed many a pint over at the King’s Head Pub. Not only is it quite tasty, but the legendary James May, my favorite of the TG/GT hosts, was the face of the brand for some time.

It’s aweful, but pairs well with the sriracha fried chicken and mac n’ cheese I’m making.

König Pilsener. Three ingredients: water, hops and barley in a .5L can. But you’ve got to pour it all into a glass that’s big enough. Probably not Germany’s best offering, but it’s crisp and dry, with a gentle hoppy aftertaste. It’s my daily drink, and I’m a sucker for a good German or Czech pilsener. After the boys go to bed (and my wife falls asleep on the sofa), I’m going to watch some cricket and drink two or three of these.

Speaking of chicken and mac and cheese, we went to Ruby Tuesday last night and ordered that. Well, when we got it... imagine cavatappi tossed with grated cheese. That was what we got. Whoever made it completely forgot the cheese sauce.

very nice - that is absolutely my “affordable” go to, (have a big bottle in the cabinet over the stove right now..) There are better, but black is consistently quite good for the money. Bailey’s, Kahlua and vodka mixed up with whipped cream and sliced chocolate on top. Doing a “fancy drink night” and this is the best I’ve got haha
