Car X Drift Racing, is hands down the best phone/tablet car game I’ve ever played. It’s got decent real car models With silly names . The drifting fun, though inaccurate, and the racing is fun once you decide to get a gold at every track. It has flaws, and being a free game, it had ads, and stuff the games wants you to pay real money for. However overall it’s a great game. Really the only thing I’d like the game to add is graphics.
Are there any good phone games for gear heads that you’d suggest. Even ones that cost a few dollars? I played CSR 2 for awhile, but drag racing gets boring. Are Real Racing, or any Need For Speed phone games any good?

For iPhone? My favorite is Sports Car Challenge 2 by Volkswagen (China) Investment Co LTD. Even try out the original Sports Car Challenge.
Sounds like a joke but I think it might be one of the best iPhone driving simulators out there. Has only VAG products but even includes Bugatti.
(Note: I have not downloaded any mobile racing games since 2014 and have never paid for a mobile game ever.)

Real racing is very good once you turn all assists off. I only uninstalled it because it kept me in front of my phone way too much

Car X Drift was great, but I kept running into storage space issues on my iPhone. you may like Pixel Car Racer, lots of cars and customization:

Some people here really like Real Racing 3, but I can’t deal with the paywall. The graphics in 2 are long in the tooth, but you pay once and I put hours into it when it first came out.
Pixel Car Racing is fun, but it’s just drag racing at the moment.

Yeah I had to take Car X off my tablet because it’s only an 8 gig(kicking myself for that one) and the game itself was taking up 1.2 gigs.
Pixel car racer looks like a worse version of the old Drag Racer V2 flash game. Man that game was cool.

So did I, but I got to a point where I needed to spend money to progress. Plus just shifting and using Nos isn’t as fun as navigating a racetrack.

What do you even do in pixel racer? IIRC there are no events or anything. You just repeat the same race over and over until you have money.
And why? As if events are the hard part. They’ve got a great game there, it’s like they want it to be unplayable.

Can you even turn all the assists off? I remember trying to play it: acceleration assist, brake assist, turn assist. You pretty much aren’t even playing. I think I tried turning them off, but the physics were still a million times worse than, say, Gran Turismo 1.

Yeah you could turn everything although physics became, let’s say, interesting when you went beyond the limit. Taking it for what it is meant to be, I still think it is a solid mobile racing game

Yeah, that’s one of the things I hate about it (Also a 1500+ hp Mustang can lose every 1/4 mile race, but a weak ass Mini can mop the floor with competition using only 200 hp is stupid) But I really like the customization, and the devs seem to be adding more and more these days.

I got Car X Drift this morning. The game seemed solid...but the controls :( In button control mode it automatically counter-steers for you even with steering assist off. So you’re trying to fight the oversteer but
also
trying to fight to keep the drift going at the same time. It’s impossible! I didn’t like tilt to drift and the steering wheel mode didn’t seem any better.

It really depends on the car and the tune. When you get a drift tune with the AE86 for example, the drifts are much easier to maintain. Power and angle of entry is key for that game.

Something about watching the game steer out of a drift for me just triggers me :P It’s not the power that’s upsetting me :(
