I don’t know, I’ve found it reasonably enjoyable. I hadn’t heard much about it until they released, so maybe my expectations were lower.

I haven’t played it, though Metacritic doesn’t make it look too bad , for what that’s worth. Still, I suspect there’s a reason they put that one in the $1 tier.

You’d be surprised. It took everything that made Ace Combat great - the plot/storytelling, mechanics.... Used it as toilet paper and had it flushed down like nobody’s business when Assault Horizon came out like a pimple.

You definitely want all the DLC, too, if you buy it.
I don’t even do much with the campaign, I’ll just fire up random 15 minute races with whatever I want to race.
Also, one reason you want the DLC is because the Toyota TS040 is ridiculous, and it’s in the DLC. Specifically, the way they’ve got the throttle mapped - 90% throttle is about 90% of engine power, or about 460ish hp. Anything more than that, and electric assist starts coming in, such that you’ve got 986 hp at 100% throttle at high speeds. The handling is interesting, with modulating that thermonuclear device under your right foot. (I do wish they had more of an Assetto Corsa approach to hybrids, where you can actually customize the energy harvesting and deployment strategies...)

I’m going to post this when it is happening but Project Cars is going to be free on Xbox live in the second half of February.
