Introduction!

Hey Oppo!

Figured if I am going to make this more of a thing i should at least get the basics out of the way.

Current Garage:

2006 Jeep Wrangler

2011 Mini Cooper Clubman S

And of course the work in progress

Track experience: Virtually none! Only time i was in a car on a track was after i purchased a Fiat 500 Abarth (Totalled still hate that guy!) Fiat was doing track day experiences so i went to one of those which was a blast. Hopefully after the project is built I will be getting into auto-x or something! Plenty of casual level off roading in the Jeep which is kind of its “track day”.

Mechanical Skill: Decent, I feel. Had a little bit of formal training but nothing more than how to turn a wrench basically which by that point in life I had that much down. Otherwise everything has been taught to my by my father and my own trial and lots of error!

Past Garage:

1985 Jeep CJ-7

2000-something Jeep Compass (I know it still gives me nightmares)

2011 Hyundai Accent (Fuel economy!...and boredom)

1985 Toyota MR-2

2006 Mazda RX-8

2012 Fiat 500 Abarth

Thanks for having me! Hope I keep my build progress moving along for you amusement as much as for my own sake of getting behind the wheel (For real not all those times i held the wheel inside the frame!)

Welcome. I want to build a Locost 7 at some point too. What drivetrain are you putting in yours? And are you using the original chassis dimensions or the larger version (+2 +2 +4, or whatever it’s called) that’s out there? I’d probably go for the latter because I’m rather tall and would need the leg room.

I just posted a “catch-up” post to give you hopefully all the details but, trying to keep it as close to “book chassis” as possible but had to go +2 on the engine bay for the donor.

Donor is a 1988 mustang 2.3l with the t-5 transmission

Thank you! The only thing i found missing was a fun 2 seat roadster but working on that! Can’t really tell you what else I would replace anything with in that price realm.
