It was a Verdoro Green car, but currently is rattle-can black. Some kid got a hold of it and cut in a moon roof and added fender flares. It’s in line for restoration after dad is done tinkering with his YJ. Numbers matching as well. Not sure if he’ll build the 400 in it, or get a 455 to mess with. He wants a stroked all-motor build with aluminum heads, rods, and probably an aggressive cam.

Oh man. What was that kid thinking? Glad to hear it may be restored though. Low number cars like that should be left stock imo, especially if it is a numbers matching example, but at least it sounds like it will be treated better by him than some fool who should have just bought a convertible.

Eh, it’s understandable. The old man that runs the dealer has a nice collection of old cars. I think he puts that stuff on when he’s getting ready to sell one because it isn’t the first time I have seen it.

The S2k I bought came with a gaudy hood with tons of cabin facing vents, only the front one by the intake has been drilled for functionality, I now want a knight rider style digi tach in the most rearward on the driver’s side. Then I could justify keeping the hood, which my wife (unfortunately) loves...

Yeah I remember commenting on your car because I love the color. I don’t mind the hood too much, but that one piece on the passenger front part of the hood does throw me off. Weren’t you thinking about getting rid of the hood and bumper?

Definitely keeping the bumper, it looks better now that I have it ratcheted down correctly and touched up the scuff marks with matching spray, and it actually does seem to be somewhat functional. The hood, I’m really thinking I’ll do this tach thing, then I’ll love it. Wife likes the CF showing, but I may paint that offset bump and see if she notices...

I’ve got a buddy who loves quirky little electrical projects like this... so I think I’ll get his help and it should go well. Be nice for Autocross/track days too.
