Kinja'd!!!

I’m really favoring an E63/64 M6. I’ve always wanted a high-revving engine, V10, manual vehicle while still being a “touring” weight/sized car. I’m curious about a BMW, love vehicles that aren’t thought of much, and I really like the way the interior is laid out with the manual. If it feels right, namely the convertible, then I think that will be the next member of the garage (not anytime soon though).

So ideally in 2023 I’ll have:

2006 Kia Amanti

2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee

2012 Jaguar XF NA 5.0

2015 Volvo (suggestions welcome, I think all are rated for 87 octane).

E64 BMW M6 Convertible 6MT (really hoping I like it). Otherwise I’m open to suggestions.

The goal is to get to 7 different vehicles from 7 different countries by the time I’m about 40. I’m committed to this goofy dream garage that I’ve always wanted since I was a kid. I want to get it done because it will take me until I’m 70 to transform all seven cars into my true dream garage.

Still missing a Japanese vehicle and an Italian vehicle. Any thoughts looking at the general flow of things? Pretty much feel free to suggest a 2015 Volvo, late 2000s German car, something Japanese, and something Italian.

I personally suggest the Toyota Century. And maybe a Qvale Mangusta.

Sooo the Tramonto is based off a Mercedes SL. Still a nice looking car though.

I adore how much you love the Kia Amanti. I have no idea what it is about pre 2010s Kias, they just have something about them that’s so exciting.

May I suggest a Mazda Cosmos for the Japanese car? Also, by 2023 I’m sure some of those 2017/2018 Alfa Romeo Giulias, maybe even the Quadrifoglio will be quite affordable.

It’s earned it! I’ve owned it 3.5 years now, just paid it off this past Saturday and EVERY SINGLE TIME I drive it I like it more! That’s not normal!!

It has completely spoiled me because I’ll get in a new car and touch everything then say, “Pssh, my $800 trade-in value Kia has a nicer indicator stalk!” So silly! Plus all the compliments I get on it, and an awesome Kia Service Dept a mile away, has made the ownership experience pretty awesome!

I’m kind of expecting that to be the direction I end up going! The British car will likely end up turning into something from Land Rover.

That’s the beauty of owning a car at the bottom of its depreciation curve, you have no motivation to get rid of it!

Sometimes your Amanti posts make me Google my old Rio’s VIN to see what’s happened to it. So far, it’s run the auction circuit for two years and now resides somewhere in Wisconsin, hopefully providing someone with as much joy as it gave me.

Has it been pretty reliable? :)

I would suggest a 3000GT-VR4 if you can find one. I don’t know the prices on them. You could get the Stealth version since it is the same car.

I’ll have a post about that relatively soon, hopefully. I’m going to try and run it on 86 octane (at 5,000 ft elevation) and see if it doesnt knock. Then I’ll feel more comfortable giving an answer since it isnt a yes, but I don’t want to say no since I don’t blame the car and do trust it.

I can’t wait for the post!!

I actually grade reliability on how much the car doesn’t want to give up. Like with Tucker, the darn thing lost all of its oil, didn’t want to fire on any more than 1 cylinder, and probably caught fire, but the darn thing just won’t die.

Some cars, like my mum’s Envoy, take on damage and just die, but I’ve never driven a car quite like my old Kia and the older smart, where it just shrugs off crap that other cars quit under.
