So.....after scraping the windows and setting off on my 45 minute drive to work this morning, I thought to myself - “My engine hood has frost on it as well.”

Yup, pretty obvious right? Bear with me! Then I thought to myself, as I drive, that frost is going to melt above the most heated areas of my hood, so everybody’s car on a cold morning is going to have a different ‘frost signature’ on our engine lids when we get to where we’re going.

Here’s Humdrum after 40 of those 45 minutes of driving! It was around -3C overnight last night. The right side of the engine seems to get a little more heat as there is less frost over there, but that makes sense as that is where the block is - the transmission juts out to the left. You can also see where the heat comes through past the strength braces on the underside of the hood.

Show me YOUR ‘frost signatures’ Oppo! :)

No frosty hood since our Zoom Zooms get to stay all snug in the garage. :-)

However, the truck sees its fair share of frost.

Close enough?

Usually when the hood frosts over it leaves this cool zigzag pattern from some sort of glue or something under the body that doesn’t freeze like the rest of the plastic

That’s about what the Accent looked like before I scraped it this morning!
