Is the world ready for a Reidus and Cletus episode with a 2CV?

It’s a 1970, hasn’t moved in decades, dirt cheap, 425 cc, 18-hp and has doors from 3 different cars.

Should we do it?

Yes. Yes, you should.

I doubt it has 18 hp though, unless they swapped in something that doesn’t belong. It being a 1970 it should either be a 2CV4 or 2CV6, with respectively 435 cc (24 hp) or 602 cc (29 hp).

how close is the corvette, datsun, mustang, suburban to being done. if THOSE are close, and you have some kind of direction for the 2cv then sure.......

OH.MY.GOD.YES.

2-cylinder aircooled Citroens and FIATs are my FAVORITE cars! You would be my heroes! :O *insert stereotypical fanboi-ism here*

Air-cooled, so unless water got into the engine, I wouldn’t think it should be seized...the engines were also run for hours at max RPM and are insanely durable (and also easy to fix as the cars, themselves, are so simple).

I’ve got service manual PDFs on my computer I can send along...and wiring diagrams, user manuals! This would be the best episode EVAR!

This one has a 425cc. Its a 1969.5 car best we can tell. But it’s a 425 engine in there for sure.

Also, to add to my earlier statement....DO ETTTTT! And then drive it to Nova Scotia as part of an epic road trip. I’ve totally heard that people named RallyDarkstrike totally don’t steal 2CVs there >_> <_< >_>

As cool as that would be, I would prefer to see them keep it original (or swap in a later 2CV motor)...if one of Chris Harris’ favorite cars is even older 9-hp 2CV, I’d say that makes the case to keep it it’s usual Citroen-y self! :P

Rear window defrost is a stick-on Pep Boys deal likely from the 80's. Not inlaid in the glass like a “real” defroster.

Datsun: Needs a top if we’re being picky but that thing’s done.

Mustang: Oh my god that thing will take ages

Burb: ‘77 GMC is pretty much done. We’re going to make an exhaust for it because why not.

I’ve only seen like....2 different Citrons in person (1 SM and a DS) in my entire 30 years on Earth. They are not common at all here in Nova Scotia, so seeing a 2CV would be a treat and a half, let alone riding in one!

Not really. They have a good following, so you can find folks on the internets to help you get parts. There will probably be stuff you’ll have to order from overseas, so that’ll add to the cost, though.

Quite nice price, as those should very rare finds in US and Canada. Does it have a retrofit defrosted in the rear window?

Rust likes to eat those. My friend has one project from late 50's and it is badly rusted. It seems that Citroën didn’t paint these very carefully.

well, thats good. you guys are not terribly far off from being caught up. but try not to bury yourselves under a BIG pile of projects. i have that problem sometimes myself. but if youcan keep it down to the projects that you are passionate about, you are able to get more done, also fund them better, and give them the attention to details, better.

nothing wrong with rounding up bits and parts for the after-project, that takes a long time all by itself. i am ALWAYS rounding up parts for the next one, and always on the look out for another project...... i am just more careful what i commit my energies to......
