I must do this swap to mine. It needs a V8. It does. I know it. I will do it. I don’t know when, but it will be mine. Oh yes.

I had a buddy back in the day that bought one of those new and put thousands into it. We used to go to the track fairly often and it consistently ran low 14's.

It was faster than my car at the time by nearly a full second, but my car was a 1.6 liter Honda.

If only Chrysler could have pulled 100hp/liter out of their engines. At that displacement, 14's don’t cut it anymore.

I think one of the big problems is the factory intake is total shit. I don’t know what all your buddy did, but the kegger intake gets wheezy after about 4800 RPM. Nowadays, Hughes Engines makes an AirGap intake for them which helps a lot.

Also, if your buddy had a ‘97 up truck, they were a good 3-400lbs heavier than the ‘87-’96 Dakotas.
