I gave you my segment trios in order to depict the position of each brand in relation to their most direct competitors in the US. Now we are going to create a sort of pH Scale in which acidity is replaced by sportiness and alkalinity will equate to general comfort. This sounded way deeper in my head... Well, regardless of how shallow the contents I’m always going to dive in head-first!

So it turns out there are some blank spaces in every segment for the US Market where another outside brand could fit in or push out other brands. Until then though, brands that have an empty space end up with room to flourish and stretch out without worry, namely:
Tesla/Rolls Royce.
Jaguar/Infiniti.
TONS of space for sporty premium vehicles (maybe why Saab and Pontiac feel like they still would fit in).
Buick is an island which I think a French brand could aim for.
Both Kia and Hyundai have room to move the brands sportier (which I think they are actually doing right now).

I think he wants the best of both worlds and is going to create a delicious neutrality to the brand in which there seems to be no compromises on either spectrum (while favoring the sport side). Don’t see these as rankings, nothing is good or bad.

Same here. I think there is a ton of room for any brands that don’t want to be luxury. This is why we keep seeing expensive cars from regular brands.

Well they are kinda scarce for the typical consumer-grade rear mid-engined lineup we are all so used to. I honestly view them as the bridge between Porsche’s segment and Caterham market. That’s mainly why I place them over Lambo since those track toys are obviously a league above the Exotics. Motorcycles would be around that spot too.

There’s a reason why cars like the A3, CLA are popular, I mean when it comes to a lease they’re about as affordable as a Civic monthly.
