Just had it yesterday to make a trip into the Hill Country about 2.5 hours each way. Long story short a dumb spat between two managers lead to us renting an “SUV” instead of taking one of our fleet Rams. Quick review: it was pretty awful. Kia do a great job of adding a lot of “high-end” features standard and making an “upscale” exterior to cover up the total lack of substance underneath. To its credit, it was quiet, rode well, and was quick enough. But the seating position was awful, the handling was awful, the steering was awful, the steering wheel was awful, the interior was awful, the transmission was awful (even in “Sport” mode), the torque steer was annoying, and even the key was one of those idiotic flip things that Audi used 15+ years ago and I thought we had managed to rid the automotive world of by now.

I’ve had a couple rental Hyundais/Kias and you’re right about the features, well one I had lacked cruise control. The steering is appalling, I know I’m spoiled by my M3, but it lacks all feel and it’s way too sensitive.

The funny thing is that I owned an ‘07 Hyundai for a while and it was fine. But recently it seems like the steering has gotten way overboosted and the interior materials are stuck in 2007.

I completely agree, the steering is way over boosted, in 2007 they were also still probably using hyudrualic power steering.
