This sad Corolla has been sitting sand right rear wheel in front of a crappy building full of junk for a few weeks now. I noticed this morning that it was tagged overnight for removal. After learning of the Roadkill Muscle Truck being towed for looking abandoned, I decided to go take a couple pictures of a real abandoned vehicle.
Funny enough, if you notice those marks on the ground, someone dragged it into the corner of the lot.

In my area this would be on CL for 3-4K.

There’s a lot of abandoned cars I come across near the area I work. I’ve always thought it might be kind of fun to try and resurrect one of them, but have never bothered to look into how difficult it would be to get a title.

Not sure about all states, but here in TX you first need to purchase a surety bond for 1.5X the value of the vehicle. Most of the time you can buy it from a bonding company for a small fraction of the bond amount under the obligation that you will pay the full bond amount to the bonding company if they have to pay out a claim against the title. If there are no claims in 3 years, the ownership transfers to you and you can apply for an unbranded title. IMO, it is only worth it if it is a spare car and you can afford to pay out a claim. If you have the space to stash it for 3 years before starting to get it back to being truly roadworthy it can be a great deal.

Interesting. I’m not sure I’ve seen anything I’d love enough to hang onto it for more than three years, but it might be worth looking in to.
