Saw this on a truck carrying LP gas today, he stopped at a gas station to air up his tire, I advised him that air probably wasn’t going to fix it.

I’m trying to figure out what exactly is wrong here. It looks like the wheel is falling off, but the outside wheel is still perfectly stable. Its not the tire coming off the rim because you can’t see the rim when the tire wobbles to the inside.

oh god, back when I worked in a garage that shit pissed me off to no end. Fix-a-Flat was the bane of any tire slinger’s existence. second worst was when I’d get a road call for a flat tire, and rolled up to find the numpty drove on such a low tire the bead rolled off of the rim. and he was stupid enough to think a can of Fix-a-Flat would both seat the bead and re-inflate the tire.

the absolute worst, though, was when someone would bring in their tire/car for me to fix a puncture, and would “forget” to mention he got it here with Fix-a-Flat. Nothing like breaking the bead and getting blasted in the face with ammonia and latex.

I fixed tires about the time when fix-a-flat was just getting popular and I agree 100%. I hate that shit. Fixing a tire with a plug is easy and actually works, fix-a-flat rarely does.

When my wife bent the rim on my car a few months ago she told her dad she had a flat. She did not tell him she hit a gigantic pot hole. These are 13" wheels and tires, but he still thought it was a good idea to put 2 cans of that Prestone shit. If he only would have spent the 3 minutes needed to pull the tire off the car he would have seen that she drove it off the bead and that the rim had a very bad dent. I felt sorry for the tire guy when he put that tire on a good rim. I was so mad when I found out what he did. Just let it wait for me or take to the tire shop buddy. You are retired, that’s what retired dads do for their daughters. Sorry for the rant, but everyone else thinks I’m crazy and busting his balls for no reason.

I’m going to say bent rim. Which is impressive, given the heftyness of the wheels. Also a tire coming off the inside rim would not effect the outside rim.
