Here’s a weird one.

There’s this new guy who sits across me in the office bt not on my team, who won’t stop fidgeting. None of my business really, problem is, I don’t know if it’s the structured cabling and raised floor, both me and my coworker sitting 6 ft behind me are feeling the desk and floor shaking as a result. I can tell it’s him because I actually see him shaking when we feel the floor vibrating.

Should I just go and tell him to stop? I don’t know how to get proof that it’s the cause.

Time to mount your desk and chair on shock absorbers.

I played a gig back in December, and the second oboe player could stop fidgeting his legs, constantly bouncing them up and down. He did it the entire time, even when he was playing. He was probably about 30-35 years old, and I finally started wondering if he suffered from Parkinson’s or some other neurological problem. Your office mate might have a similar affliction, and not be able to stop even if he wanted to. It’s worth considering.

That’s why I’m not sure if I should even raise it. But it’s not non-stop, he does it periodically, so I think it might be different from your situation.

RLS bro! lol

I am guilty of doing this sometimes but have also read up it can sometimes be the body’s way of burning excess calories (energy) while at rest to speed up metabolism.

Just go give him a slap!

The appropriate response to this is:

A) do nothing. You are Canadian and can put up with way worse (Quebec, USA, Windsor)

B) APPOPLOGIZE FOR BEING BOTHERED BY IT.

C) “Hey Fuck head! Stop with the twitchy shaking shit! It’s shaking our shit too and it’s anoying as fuck! If you keep it up I’m going to beat the shit out of you! Try shaking in a body cast jerkoff! I am seriously going to come over and fuck your mother/brother/sister/wife/husband/non gender identifying partner, in their nostrils while you watch! KTHANXBYE!!!” Then donkey punch them and walk away.

4) some combination therein.
