People have been saying this for about three decades now. I’ll believe it when I see it. While I don’t like to shit on someone who defected from Best Korea, I take alot of what the high profile government ones say with a grain of salt, though his emphasis on the proliferation of information about the outside world is interesting.

I love what he wants to do, but I’d rather see NoKor start an inter-communist war.
It pulls some sort of hijinks on China, blames Russia for it, then it does something and makes it look like a Russian job to betray the CCP, a spat ensues, more hijinks follow, until Russia and China can’t stand each other anymore and split.
Then they’ll nuke the Forbidden City and the Kremlin using each other’s weapons. Another pair will “accidentally” hit Pyongyang. Glorious Leader gets mad and decides to go full-on war, leaving the US with no choice but to stick with its Asia-Pacific allies lest they risk an angry China or Russia knocking on the White House’s door.

Standard punishment there is to imprison three generations of the defector’s family, not that that would be much better than execution, especially given the conditions in North Korea’s prisons.

Hopefully this happens, I don’t think the US needs to be involved but it would be a good thing for Korea and Asia as a whole if Kim Jung Un was taken care of.
