There are always holes within a model lineup, and they always seem to be the exact configuration I want! Here are a couple of examples:
Cadillac ATS V-Sport
Why this doesn’t exist, I’ll never know. All I want is the 404 hp 3.0T V6 from the CT6 inside the ATS and priced at just over $50,000. It would go perfectly against the awesome niche the Q50 Red Sport 400, especially with optional AWD.
A Natural V8 Compact Sedan with a Manaul
If anyone would make a compact sports sedan with a manual I would be sooo happy! GM was the closest though. You can get the ATS Sedan with a manual but no V8. You could buy the SS Sedan but it’s a size or two too large. Then of course the Camaro SS isn’t a sedan. I just can’t believe no mainstream brand is building an E90!
Ram 1500 6.4L
All I wanted, and I thought Manley hinted that it was coming. The SRT Grand Cherokee and Durango work well with it so why couldn’t a Rebel?
Mustang Turbo V6
Whether the 2.7L or the 3.5L I don’t care, just give them up!
Honda Fit Si
Turbo 1.5L making the same 174 hp as in the new Civic. They didn’t build it because the Fiesta ST would have been cheaper and faster, plus Honda knew it would make the CR-Z completely irrelevant (40 hp more, up to an additional 2 mpg city and 4 mpg highway, and more practicality for the same price). They could even make a three-door version with some random combination of letters. Maybe have it relate to the CR-V so that people think the little hatch is related to it. I’m thinking something like CR-X...

There was. It was called the CR-Z Mugen but was never sold in North America. It had a supercharger and revised tuning, developed 178hp and could hit 62mph in 6.1 seconds.

Chevy would probably make a shit ton of money out doing that to a regular Tahoe just through Border Patrol contracts. Pretty tough fitting suspects into the back of a Raptor (or putting gear/rifles in the bed).

Hey, I want to play too!
Let me start with three letters: PLC. Thats personal Luxury Coupe. I want full size coupes again. I want the option to buy a Coupe that is neither compact, sports focused, hyper over emasculated, retro, tuned on the nurburgring, only able to accommodate comfort to those in the front or midgets in the rear. I want a Coupe based on a full sized sedan that offers to comfort of a full size sedan to both front passengers and rear passenters alike. I want it to be adequately powerful and with confident steering and a smooth ride.
Next I want to agree with you on the compact with a v8. How ever I want a small liter sub 4 liter v8. I want a fire breathing direct injected, variable intake and exhaust, Rev demon. I want fender flares, spoilers, dual exhuasted and deep wide rims.
Full size Wagons. Big ass Wagons. Big ass electric eco friendly Wagons. I want a god damn tesla version of a ‘96 roadmaster! With a massive range. Give me 15 feet of batteries and 500+ miles of range. Oh and auto autopilot when I wanna sit back and relax.
A bigger cadillac that isn’t a turd like the cts. Give us a true American halo car! No fuck that, I want some to bring duesenberg back! It’s high time we have a true world class car made in America!

Alfa is coming out with a Giulia model right in that range.
The Honda one kills me, it makes zero sense to not have a fit si. I’m sure the Civic turbo engine would fit perfectly!
The lack of a Chevy RWD sedan on the ATS/CTS/camaro platform is frustrating for me. They have the ingredients for a modern reasonably priced E30/E36, but noooo.
On a similar vein, Mazda should throw together a Mazda 3 and Miata. Call it the Mazda 4.

Mazda has always killed me with that. For me an MX-7 seems like a great way to mix the RX-7 and MX-5. But the more I thought about it the more I realized Mazda has ZERO room for compromise when it comes to their engines. It’s actually pretty nuts how exact their few powertrains are.

I just don’t get where my miata based sedan is. Every Mazda is great, if they made a compact RWD sedan I think it would really sell.

Cadillac ATS V-Sport
I don’t think we mean the same thing, but I wish Cadillac sold an ATS V-Sport appearance/performance package (similar to Lexus’s F-Sport and BMW’s M-Sport packages). I really love the way the ATS-V’s front fascia looks but the non-”V” version looks too “Florida Old Person” for me.

On the Cadillac: there needs to be a Brougham edition for the higher end vehicles. Add the best interiors, a bit more power, and stupid expensive wheels. They’d be a hit for the upper echelon/pimp buyers.
