Re-wire a 56 pink Caddy!

not this one, but one like it. I’ve only seen the continental kit so far, that’s how I know it’s pink. Any 56 pink Caddy experts please chime in.

Kinja'd!!!

I enjoy a challenge, might not by the end of this one but I’m up for anything.

Can’t say I know anything, but I know somebody interested in getting a ‘58 at some point, and given the low budget, I may be calling on you then...

just re arrange wires till everything works at the same time. Resources for Canadian built cars are scarce, so there’s some trial and error getting the turn signals not to make the temp gauge dance etc. one tip- do not paint inside your steering wheel hub or your horn wont blow. Probably won’t take a whole day to figure out next time.

I’m actually impressed with the Galaxie - just about everything electrical works. I’ve only got feeble chirps from one of the two horns and the fuel and temp gauges are AWOL, but details, details...

The Lincoln’s going to be the fun one, with the vacuum controls on the heater system and the electric windows, seat, etc. etc.

The Lincoln sounds not fun, I don’t have much vacuum experience, messed around with the pneumatic central locking of old Benzes a bit though. But I once sent a TR6 home with EVERY GODDAMN ELECTRICAL LUCAS SMOKE WIDGET in working order, they didn’t even leave the factory like that. I’m still quite proud of that. (eat some dicks, Lucar connectors.)

“We’ll just use a mixture of copper wire, zinc plated brass bullet sleeves, cloth insulation, steel connecting screws, rubber sleeve armor that doesn’t seal, and aluminum bullets, and everything will be fine and not corrode because water is imaginary and preventing galvanic corrosion is for homos” - a Lucas engineer, probably.

Repaired a 66 galaxie sending unit not long ago, lead and fire.

Current status of my temp and gas gauges: I have 2/3 of a hot and 2/3 of a gas, key on or key off. Yeahhhh, might need to do some exploring.

Does it or should it have a cold engine light? the 66 does. probably tied together.

There appears to be a heater light (?) but not a cold engine one.

looks like the 66 has hot and cold idiot lights. I’ll take a look in the spring, That galaxie is currently being an awesome first car for a 17 year old girl.
