Is it just an appearance package? I looked on autotrader and “BRABUS” is a trim level listed for the Fortwo.

You know how there is the “Camry Dent”? I have the same thing with smarts, seeing how many bumpers are missing 1 or more tow hook caps...This Brabus (US Brabus smarts are really just passions with body kits) is missing 1 cap. :)

In Europe, you’d typically get engine enhancements and some other performance goodies. In America, you get the suspension lowered ever so little and some appearance items. Technically speaking, an American Brabus isn’t unique (no unique VINs like Europe), they’re effectively a passion with some appearance parts.

In theory, anyone in America can take a standard passion, give it Brabus parts, then sell it as a Brabus, and it would be hard to confirm if it officially left the factory as a Brabus. IIRC, only the Monroney will actually say if it’s a Brabus or not.

Is it bad that I want a Brabus smart?

I have always wanted a Brabus Smart for some reason. A lady at our church in Hoover drives one, but I’ve never tracked her down to chat. My kids would love a ride in it, I’m sure.

Interesting, I figured it was something along those lines of just a body kit. I guess it would be like an M-Sport pack vs an M car, the M car has a differnt VIN unlike the normal BMW with just a body kit and suspension among other things.

That is actually a stellar example! And totally correct too!
