Already some students are arguing that rollover protection systems are useless. That seat belts are annoying and that “such and such’s friend was better off without a seatbelt in the accident”.
I hope these people never work for a major automobile manufacture or get a PE license.

if it makes you feel better, I just sat through a 3 hour HOA meeting where one of the topics was canceling earthquake insurance to save money (in an area along a fault-line expecting a major quake). Does it get better? yup! Canceling the earthquake insurance would save $12 a month, but each owner spends $30 a month on a cable TV package that they wont even discuss canceling.

It’s not safer at all. It’s safe compared only to other mid-late 90s SUVs. And those pillars on the GM trucks are thick compared to it. If you took the windshield out you could reach your hand entirely around the a- pillar.
