Kinja'd!!!

Because they basically went “screw it” when they made an S8 that can hit sixty in 3.7 seconds. Maybe this could be a little too much when it comes to speed?

Right? The A8 in my mind is supposed to be something you’d probably be driven around in. The S8 Plus is probably a car you’d prefer to be in the front of, but is also for driving people around, I guess? I dunno, it’s kind of why I’m glad BMW doesn’t make an M version of the 7 series. These kinds of vehicles don’t make sense to me (as much as I love the XJR, of course).

The BMW M760i has a 600 hp twin turbo V12 and a quoted 0-60 time of 3.6 seconds. The Alpina B7 also gets 600 hp and a quoted 3.6 second 0-60 time from its twin turbo V8. So there’s that.

Dammit, it’s new for this year? You were my last hope, BMW.

Well technically it’s an “M” and not an M because it’s M760i and not M7, FWIW.

Too fast? It still can’t beat a Charger Hellcat in the 1/4, and it’s AWD! Needs more power.

Same stuff, different pile.

Why do you care? The only time you care about four wheeled vehicles is when it’s two motorcycles taped together.

Also, it somehow weighs more than a Charger Hellcat and makes less power, so there’s that.

I don’t know, but that’s a damn good looking car. I’m glad Audis still look good, I’m not a fan of what BMW and Mercedes are doing for the most part.

No, the only time I care about four wheels is when it’s hailing in California. Which coincidentally is today.

Speaking as someone who just got a d3 S8, these make a lot of sense. I want to be able to haul my kiddos around without them having their feet crushed behind my seat back, but yet I still want the sporting type ride. Mine drives like a little bigger S4, but less blower whine, and more hand of God kinda shove in the back. Awd is great for quick stomps on the throttle. It just goes, no wheelspin, no drama, it just goes. So for my sake, o hope people buy the new ones like crazy, because nothing depreciates quicker than a German car out of warranty.

I see about as many of these as I do new S63s, so I think the answer is, “Not many, but that’s because it’s expensive.”
