Since Ford stripped pretty much EVERY option from the Mustang V6 back in 2015, I wasn’t able to get very close. Same color, transmission, cloth interior, but different rear gears, no black wheels or spoiler, and no SYNC or fog lights. Boo, Ford. Boo.

330Ci to a 440i Coupe (top-tier 3er coupe that isn’t an M3/M4). Silver, black leather, upgraded headlights, and sport package (suspension, brakes, steering). $55,245, which is just about in line with my car’s $40,000 price in 2002.

Just about as close as I could get... My friends were asking me why I wasn’t looking at new tacos (something about low financing rates blah blah blah), but I think the new one is uglier, has a worse interior, and an unproven engine compared to my 4.0 v6. Oh also +20k is a good amount of money I would prefer not to spend.

Going with the Galaxie this time around, since I did the Lincoln and Benz last time, and the Ranchero and Rover are orphans. Went with Taurus SE, because it’s the biggest FERD sedan, and the SE trim line (entry) is so far beyond the entry Galaxie that I think it maps to the “500" better than the SEL would.

Kinja'd!!!

Went with NO extra options because that’s how the Galaxie is. Unfortunately, no option for going without A/C, power brakes, power steering, power windows, and most significantly, NO RADIO DELETE.

I think the base V6 compares better to the 289 than the Ego-Boast four, even with the 289 being an upgrade in ‘63.

There’s no actual new version of the Liftback, I could build something that’s almost exactly my car but has the auto braking/radar cruise package standard, but that’s boring. So, I’ll use the Prime Plus. I gain heated seats and the auto braking/radar cruise package, I lose Qi charging and the three-door smart-key (only get one-door instead). I also lose the ability to get the black applique package, but a better version of most of it is standard on 2017s now anyway. That’s equipped with the all-weather floormat package and the protection package, exactly matching my car, but in a PHEV version.

Alternately, for something less Prius...

Kinja'd!!!

I can’t configure a tan interior for whatever reason, to match exactly. And, the Grand Touring can’t have a limited slip differential, as opposed to the NB LS having one standard. Only option I added was wheel locks.

I hate the head lights touching the kidney, like it really makes me dislike the overall styling. I’d be interested to see how it drives, personally I’d want them to make a 2 series grand coupe and then make an M version. Same size as our E90s, but newer. I’ve also always wanted an M5, so if I somehow come into another job where I make too much money, I might get one. I’m planning on keeping my E90 for a long time, so anything would be in addition to it.

My options as far as all this goes should open up significantly in the coming year, so it will be interesting to see I decide in the end. Keep my 100k E90 and head toward 200k?
