I sometimes get LIDAR alerts on my detector while sitting in traffic. After observation I’m pretty convinced it’s a Volvo driver aide, since there’s usually a Volvo SUV right behind me when it happens.

Volvos are so safe they even make other drivers slow down for safety.

I rarely see nice new Volvos because Detroit. BUT every damn Escalade/Yukon/Suburban/Encore makes my K Alert go off like crazy.

Volvo or Infiniti. There’s a humpback whale QX80 that I pass a lot of mornings, and I get laser alert on my V1 almost every time....

Some adaptive cruise controls and emergency braking systems use LIDAR. The issue is only going to get worse as more cars start including these systems.

Volvo City Safe system indeed used an array of *Doctor Evil voice* “lasers” along with a bunch of other invisible beams
