I guess it’s always had it’s fair share of depreciation because it’s a performance luxury car. However, I searched not too long ago and I didn’t see any in the PNW under $40k.

I just ran a quick search and this 2011 Panamera 4 for $40k popped up and it wasn’t even the lowest priced in Washington and Oregon:

And nationwide, there are cars under $30,000 but this one at $33,000 looks pretty nice:

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Not that I’ll be running in to buy one but it gives me hope. As ungainly as this thing is from some angles, I’ve always kind of wanted one.

Are manual transmissions even available on the Panamera? I just popped over to CL for fun and looked at about 30 of em, all autos. Sorted price low to high, so once I was in 100 grand plus territory I closed the tab.

I do believe that Ferdinand would be displeased... I know I am.

I don’t know, in my dream world it’s our family car, so auto is okay. If I were shopping for a 911, then there would be no compromise.

Well its 6 years about to be 7 years old. so its not depecriation in a negative way. thats just the law of averages. I’d expect luxury vehicles to be no different

(except Aston Martin, those cats are making their stuff out of ambrosia laced with hope apparently :P)

Late for this party, but just drove by a Panamera getting out of PDX and remembered these existed. In California you couldn’t throw a stone without hitting one, but these aren’t very common in the Portland area. So like you I went to CL and found quite a few newish ones (2011-2014) in the $30-40k range. Almost reaching temptation levels.

A base Panamera with 300HP or so doesn’t sound like too ridiculous a prospect for a family hauler at $30k? What’s maintenance like on these things? I’m about 2 years away from my next car change over, might have to keep these on my radar. That’ll be an epic transition – Chevy Spark (purely a commuter lease) to a Porsche Panamera.

I’m in Eugene and if it weren’t for international students, I’d probably never see them. That’s funny to hear they are so popular in CA.

I seem to recall someone who worked at a Porsche dealer mentioning that a more basic model probably wouldn’t be so bad, that the turbo models and ones with the air suspension seemed are a little more problematic. The air suspension is a very expensive fix($8,000 I think).

I’d also be curious to know what the Audi A7s reliability is like as it looks good and is depreciating even faster and seems to match up pretty well on paper to the base Panamera 4.

Something in the back of my mind keeps thinking that these are going to go the way of the cayenne and just plummet in price around the 10 year mark.

Yup exactly. On one side – hey, $30-40k Porsche sedan! On the other, this thing could be worth $5k in 5 years and I don’t want to take that big a depreciation hit dammit.

Something about the A7 just rubs me the wrong way – you hear about how great the driving dynamics are on Panameras…not sure if that’s something the A7s are quite known for, especially with Audi’s reputation for nose-heavy understeering cars.
