This is McLaren F1 chassis #013. This car spent most of 2016 sitting at the Petersen Museum being exhibited as part of the Precious Metal collection.

The F1 has been the childhood hero of mine since age 8 when I first discovered it in 1997. With a total of 106 examples ever built, the car has proven to be highly elusive for me over the years.

Thanks to the Bruce Meyer Gallery I was able to get up close and examine its design elements. Here are the photos.

Photos are in 1920 x 1280 resolution.

Saw that last year when I went. So awesome being able to be that close to a legend. Great shots.

The one few straight from factory cars that can still run with the cars made now. Thats pretty crazy.
