There’s a certain handsomeness to the Hyundai Genesis that I just can’t place.
It just seems like a perfectly proportioned mid-size luxury sedan. Nothing really stands out, but it doesn’t exactly offend the eyes either.
It’s like Hyundai sat down with a checklist of what a luxury car needs, checked the boxes, and then left for lunch. It’s luxury in a basic sense, and I guess that isn’t too bad. I don’t know, someone help me try and get my head around it.

It’s what I think luxury should be: understated. Nothing flashy, just something with good materials put together in a quality fashion.

I think they used the same styling approach as the older LS400.

Understated, not plain, but not thrilling either?
I see where you’re coming from.

It’s not trying too hard.

If I squint my eyes and turn my head juuust so, it looks like the love child of a jellybean era Camry and a modern day Maxima. It’s unremarkable and unoffensive to the point of oblivion.

It just looks... nice. You know it’s a very nice car from a distance, but it doesn’t scream at you.

It’s the pre-Predator Lexus approach as a whole. Classy, but subtle. Not boring, but nothing exciting at all about it (because it doesn’t need to be exciting - it knows it’s not a sports car)
