Apparently if you own one of only five Barchetta NC Miata retro tail lights , yes they can . This set will set you back $1250 and these are used with some minor TLC needed in the form a black respray around the edges of the lens where the original paint is coming off.
Here’s the list of NC Miatas running Barchetta’s rare lights.

Potentially, but then you have to master Solidworks or some 3D modeling software to accurately nail the look. Not the mention putting in a lot of time and effort in getting the exact dimensions required to have clean fitment.

I completely thought the first image was some weird body kit on an NB. Never would have guessed that was actually an NC until I saw some of the other photos. These are pretty cool but I feel like you could just take the tail light off an actual NA/NB and make it work for less money.

the answer to the main question is a big yes, outside of the miata quite a few tail lights are big money thanks to plastic that doesn’t hold up well. The tail lights in out 56 chevy custom are from a 60 Chrysler 300. They don’r reproduce the lenses. So finding a crack free pair it hard and be prepared to pay neat 1000 bucks. Usually you have to but the entire tail light with the chrome as well and they are usually pitted and needing to be rechromed if they are even save able. A local guy paid to have a small sand casting company make molds to start repoping lenses but a set of new lenses alone are over 600 bucks.

Yeah. At some point with a highly modified, personalized car you stop thinking about the money and realize you just want to get it to that perfect ideal in your head. No one’s building these things for the resale value.
Don’t get me wrong, that’s still an insane price for some damn taillights haha

They more or less look like de-Altezzafied NC tails. Sort of an NB style on an NC. Could probably get a similar look with translucent red vinyl over stock NC tails.
