I will be checking on progress this afternoon.

Kinja'd!!!

I have worked for a long time to be able to afford something like this. When I started, it was rough. My first job as an attorney paid $34,500 per year working for a corrupt law firm, and I was deep in the hole of student debt. It seemed impossible and like it would never change. I would never have predicted where I am now. Back then, I got poached by the Public Defender and was thrilled to get $35,800 without benefits from the county.

For you younger Oppos, life is long and full of twists. What is now is not forever. Hang in there if you are struggling because the future may hold opportunities that you never imagined.

I hope you’re right. I’ve been working at the same place for 3 years now and only making 2.50 and hour more than when I started. My last “career” changer was a down grade by about 10,000/year. I’m hoping to have another career change soon. It was a pretty big wake up call when I saw my total income for 2016 on my w-2. To give you a hint the difference between what I made and what my wife made, was more than what I made.
