having had the (dis)pleasure of trying to paint aluminum in the past, I’ll be curious to see how well that paint adheres.

Supposedly heat cure stuff of all shapes and sizes is the coating of choice for AR15 builders, at least partly because it’s oil resistant. If it’ll hold up on an aluminum gun, it should hold up on this. I’ve had to paint aluminum body pieces many times (Land Rover) with the whole sanding + self-etching primer or epoxy + fill primer + topcoat circus, and I really didn’t want to leave self-etching on the anodizing for more than a minute or try masking all the insets.

If it doesn’t hold up, you can shoot it with an AR-15.
