After the next wash I will most likely claybar it and do a thorough detail.

As a neurotic car detailer for about a million years, I have a suggestion. Skip the clay bar unless you have major bonded contaminants. Instead opt for this:

https://www.amazon.com/Nanoskin-AS-017-AutoScrub-Medium-Sponge/dp/B00DOS0SFC/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1484875310&sr=8-5&keywords=nanoskin

In terms of taking off loose surface contaminants (i.e. not sun baked tree sap from three years ago) a clay bar does not hold a candle to the nano skin in terms of ease of use, safety, and speed. I was an obsessive 3x/year claybar’er, taking a couple hours to do it right. With this, I can remove surface junk in 1/4 the time, and do it almost every wash. It’s truly fantastic. Use it the same way, spray on your favorite lubricant (Griot’s Speed Shine is my favorite), rub until you feel it’s nice, and move on. Buff the car after to a nice shine, apply wax. If you drop a clay bar, it’s done. If you drop the nano skin, you rinse it off, and continue. Try it out, I promise you will love it.

Nice, looks interesting. I also use Griot’s Speed Shine and it’s fantastic stuff. I might look into this. Thanks.

Anytime! Griot’s makes their own version of the nano skin, and even has a pad for the orbital which I got for christmas but haven’t had a chance to try yet. Stupid winter...

Man, that car looks great.

I tell myself I’ll own a GTI someday and I’d spec it very similarly to yours.

Thanks, I didn’t like how high up the stock shifter was and it felt too light for my taste. Swapped it for the weighted shifter on there now and it also sits much lower.

Thanks, I had to order it in the spec I wanted because it was impossible to find in an S model in this color with the performance and lighting package with a six speed. Had to wait a few months but it was worth it. I love the car.
