Unfortunately, old news. Happened to me about 3 yrs ago. They’re clever - they don’t steal a laptop bag, but rather the contents, for example. You might not notice for hours or until the next day.

Police told me it’s incredibly common. They can pop it very quickly, sometimes going down an aisle of cars and the. Turning around at the end to spot for witnesses. They then enter the cars one by one.....

Scumbags.

Incredible how they got in with such ease. It’s a shame more automakers haven’t addressed these types of issues in their design.

I guess when much of your businesses is related to selling replacement parts after the fact, it’s just good businesses practice to let bygones be bygones and hope the vehicle owner chooses genuine OEM replacement parts if and when they’re needed.

damn I would have thought they would have eliminated that security flaw. my mid-eighties Jetta could be broken into that way as well.

a simple plate around the lock and handle would eliminate this completely for hardly any money. they used to sell kits for the jetta in fact.

of course a big enough rock will get around any lock if there’s a window nearby :) bah.

It really is a shame... I was told they target gyms and restaurants/bars after work - people going home, bag in the car...

Glad you raised the visibility - all you can do is be careful where possible.
